Ollet Privacy Policy

Ollet is designed to prove identity while minimizing the collection, storage, and exposure of personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the Ollet app or related services and how that information is handled.

Privacy Architecture Summary

Ollet is designed so that identity verification occurs primarily on the user's device. Identity documents and biometric comparisons are processed locally, and Ollet does not maintain centralized databases of identity documents or biometric data. Services verify identity using cryptographic proofs generated on the user's device.

Overview

Ollet generates a cryptographic proof of identity on a user's personal device. The system is designed so that identity verification occurs locally on the device whenever possible.

Ollet does not maintain user accounts or store identity documents on its servers, nor does it operate centralized databases of user credentials. Verified identity data may be stored locally within the Ollet app on the user's device.

Ollet is not an identity provider and does not maintain centralized identity records for individuals.

Most identity verification steps occur directly on the user's device and the resulting proof can be verified by external services without exposing the underlying identity document.

Information Processed on Your Device

When using Ollet, certain information may be processed locally on your device in order to generate a cryptographic proof of identity. This may include:

  • Information from a government-issued identity document (such as a passport or digital ID data)
  • Biometric comparison data used to confirm that the person consenting to or approving the online action matches the identity document photo
  • Application attestation information provided by the operating system

This information is processed locally on the device and is not transmitted to or stored by Ollet servers except when necessary to deliver a verification proof requested by the user to a relying service.

Identity Documents and Biometric Data

Ollet does not collect or store copies of identity documents or biometric images on its servers.

Identity documents and biometric comparisons are processed on the device solely for the purpose of confirming that the person providing consent for the online action matches the identity document photo.

Any biometric comparison results are used only to confirm identity during the verification process and are not retained by Ollet.

Cryptographic Proofs

When you use Ollet to verify your identity with a service, the app may generate a cryptographic proof derived from information stored on your device.

These proofs may be shared with the service you are interacting with so that the service can confirm the verification result.

The proof does not expose the underlying identity document or biometric data.

The verification of the proof occurs independently by the requesting service using cryptographic validation, without requiring Ollet to maintain or access identity records.

Information Shared with Services You Use

When you use Ollet to verify identity with a third-party service (such as a website or application), that service receives the verification proof generated by your device.

The information shared with that service is determined by the verification request and may include limited identity attributes necessary for the transaction.

Only the attributes requested by the service and approved by the user are included in the proof.

Ollet does not control how third-party services use information they receive from verification results. Users should review the privacy policies of those services.

Device and Security Information

To protect the integrity of the verification process, Ollet may process device security signals such as:

  • Application attestation information
  • Operating system integrity signals
  • Application security status

These signals help confirm that the verification process is occurring on a trusted device environment.

Analytics and Operational Data

Ollet may collect limited operational data necessary to maintain and improve the service. This may include:

  • Application version and device type
  • Error logs
  • Service performance metrics

This information is used solely to maintain system reliability and security and is not used to build identity profiles.

Data Retention

Because identity verification occurs primarily on the user's device, Ollet retains minimal information.

Operational logs and system metrics may be retained for limited periods necessary to maintain service integrity and security.

Ollet does not maintain persistent identity records for users.

Security

Ollet is designed to minimize centralized storage of sensitive identity information. Identity credentials remain on the user's device and cryptographic verification methods are used to confirm identity without exposing underlying data.

Children's Privacy

Ollet is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in the user's jurisdiction). Ollet does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to the product or applicable law. Updates will be posted on the Ollet website or within the app.
